Heinrich Meyer-Werke

The Heinrich Meyer-Werke have been manufacturing as a family-run business in Munster in the Lüneburg Heath since 1836, and today see themselves as a nationwide industrial supplier of innovative and sustainable systems for the construction sector. The latest chapter in that story is the HM PV carport: modular carports with integrated photovoltaic panels, built in solid timber construction. The thinking behind it is as simple as it is effective. Germany has 160 million parking spaces for cars and vans, a considerable share of them on commercial sites. Instead of sealing green space for solar parks, car parks that have long been sealed can be put to double use — the electricity generated goes straight to electric vehicles via a wallbox or into the public grid. Supermarkets and companies can offer their customers and staff a place to charge, or cut their own electricity costs substantially. The modular design makes the systems scalable, from a single parking space to an entire car park, prefabricated at the company’s own plant and delivered and installed throughout Germany. The fact that the company was named one of Germany’s Top 100 most innovative medium-sized businesses in 2021 and again in 2023 fits that self-image.

We supported the Heinrich Meyer-Werke in making the PV carport visible as a building block of the energy and mobility transition. We translated the technical advantages of modular construction into stories for construction, energy and mobility desks, place the company in the trade and business press, and support trade fair appearances, expert articles and interviews.
