MICROPLASTIC ALTERNATIVE FROM BACTERIAL CELLULOSE

The pollution of the world’s oceans by microplastics is a well-known problem with far-reaching consequences. According to a study by Newcastle University, each person ingests an average of five grams of microplastic per week through their drinking water.

Bioweg, a company founded in 2019 in Quakenbrück, Lower Saxony, has taken on the problem and replaces synthetic polymers in cosmetic products and fertilisers with natural bacterial cellulose. The EU also believes in Bioweg, as shown by the €12.6 million funding in 2022. We support Bioweg with international PR work and get editors talking – whether in Germany, the UK, France or India.
