Clean air instead of dust: how Hy2gen is decarbonising shipping

📯 🐋 🚢 The sound of ships’ horns is one of the biggest city noises in Hamburg. And the smell of burning heavy fuel oil is unfortunately always one of the biggest city odours. At least those who live near the harbour are familiar with the veil of fine grey dust that regularly settles on window frames and everything else that is somehow outside. Not nice. And above all, not necessary.

There are alternatives. You just have to want them. Shore power is one solution, as is the decarbonisation of drives. We are monitoring the topic very closely with and for our customer Hy2gen and are pleased that industry giants such as the shipping company A.P. Moller – Maersk are now also committed to new technologies – as was recently seen in the port of Hamburg or here on TV on Ndr Info.

What do you think is the fuel of the future for transport shipping? Methanol? Hydrogen from ammonia? LNG ?
